Life Drawing

I’ve done my fair share of life drawing in the past – at college we used to go every week, and I had a couple of intensive days of it on my foundation course at Wimbledon UAL. I really believe it’s the best way of improving drawing skills, working under different time constraints and challenging my sense of perception. So, with plenty of reasonably priced classes and drop-in sessions (some free!) I scoped one out and gave it a go. It’s been far too long.

I found Central London Life Drawing Society on Meetup, and went along to a session in Camden. It was above a pub and only cost £11 for 2 hours – win win win! It was great, super model and Tony, who led the class, was never obtrusive and gave great feedback if asked.

Bags of Books

Website for a children’s bookshop based in Sussex. The client wanted to be able to update the site and manage content easily and quickly, so I used WordPress to build it. They also wanted to maintain their existing logo, and show the shop and it’s interior. I drew inspiration from a silhouette of a child reading they had on their previous site, and created a scene for the site’s background.

The Written World

A travel guide I designed while working at Yellow Digital. The client wanted to incorporate various writing styles to cover all different aspects of traveling and holidays, so I created a set of characters, each with their own ‘voice’.

GDM Digital

A site for real-time buying company GDM Digital I designed while working at Yellow Digital. To distinguish GDM Digital from their competitors in the market, we decided to create a set of superheroes to represent each product. This has proven successful in giving the company a memorable identity and has spread to all aspects of their marketing, growing and expanding with the company. React is an extension of GDM Digital which has also been given its own superhero identity.
